Off-site infrastructure involves development of public property outside the specific boundary of a project.

On a typical school development, off-site infrastructure generally includes traffic lights and adjacent arterial or collector street improvements.

On any large development project with significant geographic features, canal re-routing, right-of-way acquisition, culverts or bridges, railroad grade-separations, off-site slope stability, and other off-site items are considered off-site infrastructure.
